England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff received good news of the non-cricket kind today. He was formally cleared of the speeding charge that has been pending since July 1st last year.
Flintoff was allegedly travelling at 87 mph in a temporary 50 mph section of the M62 in Huyton, Liverpool. Apparently the notice of his offence didn’t arrive until 19th July, outside the 14- day limit during which he should have received it. This was enough for his lawyer to get the case dropped.
I’m not going to comment on the rights and wrongs of all this, but 87 mph - let’s see some of that on the pitch Fred.
