India were bowled out for just 76 on the first day of the second test against South Africa in Ahmedabad. Dale Steyn took 5-23 to destroy the hosts’ first innings, which lasted just 20 overs - the first time India have been all out before lunch on the first day of a Test.
India won the toss and surprisingly chose to bat on a very green looking track. That decision went wrong spectacularly as South Africa then went past their score without losing a wicket.
Harbhajan Singh threatened a fight back, taking three wickets in four overs, but Kallis (60) and De Villiers (59) batted sensibly in the last session to leave the visitors on 223-4, a lead of 147.
India only just managed to better their previous lowest total against South Africa, 66 (at Durban in 1966).
