Andrew Flintoff was back in action with bat and ball for Lancashire against Sussex in the Pro Arch trophy in Dubai.

Flintoff took two wickets in four balls during his second over, and finished with figures of 5-1-9-2 to help Lancashire ease to a 109 run victory. He also hit a quick fire 15 with the bat as Lancashire posted a total 0f 246. Sussex were never really in the hunt.

His last competitive bowl was on September 19th last year against India in Durban during the ICC trophy.

Mike Watkinson, Lancs’ coach, later commented:- “His rhythm is good, his confidence is good and it all looks fluid. We’re just looking to play him as an all-rounder in our first County Championship match this season and then let’s build on that.”

Come on Freddie let’s get it right this time - England would be transformed by a truly fit and firing Flintoff.
